Front and Center: Behavioral Sciences Back in the White House

The White House recently issued a memorandum reinstating the behavioral sciences at the center of public policy development, an initiative started by the Obama administration. Cass Sunstein, a renowned scientist in the field, claims that “Biden’s memorandum is a powerful indicator that behavioural science has a real place in dealing with numerous problems—COVID most urgently, but also climate change, racial discrimination, poverty and others. Behavioural research offers a host of helpful lessons for dealing with the hesitancy many people have about getting the vaccine, for example.”
